Call forwarding update

Dear NFON customers,

we would like to inform you about an update of the call forwarding feature which has taken place on 19th June 2018. The feature has been redesigned and adapted in all interfaces (administration portal, Ncontrol, devices).

It is now possible to create call forwarding profiles, to manage profiles and to activate them.

Up to 10 call forwarding profiles are available per extension. One of the profiles is the default call forwarding profile, which is automatically available on each extension. The other 9 call forwarding profiles can be freely defined by the user.

There will also be changes in the naming of the call forwarding options.

After a comprehensive terminological analysis, we have made changes and a unification of labels in our 8 NFON languages (DE, EN, FR, IT, NL, ES, PL, HR). The adjustments vary depending on the language.

The call forwarding options will be named as follows in EN:

  • Unconditional –> Always
  • Busy –> Busy
  • Not available –> No answer
  • Not registered –> Not registered

 The update brings the following changes:

  • Administration portal

Here, you can create, manage and activate profiles. >>manual<<

  • Ncontrol

The option parallel ring will be migrated to extension settings. All other settings of the call forwarding profiles remain. >>manual<<

  • Devices (XML menu)

The device XML menu will be updated. You can activate profiles, but not create or manage them.

  • Star codes (DTMF)

We have defined a new star code for activation of call forwarding profiles. >>manual<<

The new star code is *10 (followed by the profile number of the call forwarding profile. Find the profile number on the administration portal).

- e.g. to activate profile number 3, please dial *103.

By using star codes you can also activate dedicated call forwarding rules like *11NUMBER. If you do so, this rule will always be set for the default profile independently from which profile is active right now.

However, you will automatically activate the default profile, if you switch on a call forwarding rule via the star code.

- e.g.:

  • You have 3 profiles.
  • The active profile is profile #2
  • Dial *110049892343123
  • The rule” always forward calls to 0049892343123“ will be set and the default profile will be activated.
